Is Discuss (this forum type module) publicly available?
How difficult would it be to integrate Chyrp and a stand alone forum solution ... rough guess is all I'm after ;)

The Discuss module is available as an example of what can be accomplished with Chyrp.
You can find it at our github repo https://github.com/chyrp/chyrp-site
Integrating in terms of using the same user base is something we never tried, though there might be an example out there of which we are not currently aware.
