Hello, as StatusNet is becoming a standard for free-software based microblogging, I thought it would be nice to have the ability to post on StatusNet-based services (like identi.ca) right from Chyrp (like the Chweet module does for Twitter).

Sadly implementing this is out of reach for my coding skills.

Here is the API reference if anyone is interested in implementing this: http://status.net/wiki/API

Thanks

Sounds like a good idea. I think we can sit down and talk this out. I believe we could integrate posting functionality for certain standard web services, like StatusNet, maybe Twitter, and any other service that might come out of this brainstorming.

These extra options wouldn't really decrease Chyrp's overall performance so having them on board might be useful for many.

Let's use this topic for further discussing this idea and see what others have to say. ;)

Which services support status.net?

Would be good to keep these as feathers/modules, not baked in. The great thing about Chyrp–from my point of view anyway–is its lightness, blistering speeds and overall simpleness.

@samuellittley: check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StatusNet
@Michiel: sure, we need those as modules, absolutely not in Chyrp core.

Broadly speaking, it would be good to have modules for auto posting on major social networking sites.

This list is not meant to be complete, I'm just thinking about these services.
